M4 Fitment Notice

STUD has received numerous reports indicating that the breech width on some M4 models is not held to the same tight tolerances as earlier FX Impact rifles. Specifically, many units appear to have a slightly wider breech, which can result in a loose or sloppy magazine fit.

All FX Impact models, including the M4, have four shallow holes machined into the barrel-side face of the breech. These are designed to accommodate small rubber balls that help eliminate play and ensure a snug magazine fit.

However, most M4s appear to be shipped with only one of the four rubber balls installed—FX has not provided an official explanation for this.

STUD recommends contacting your FX dealer to request the missing three rubber balls. Once installed in the remaining holes, these will significantly improve the magazine fit and restore proper alignment and stability.
